The complex consisted of three concentration camps, and a factory: Auschwitz I - Administration center, Auschwitz II-Birkenau - extermination camp, Auschwitz III - Monowitz - work camp, constructed next to Buna factory - factory of IG Farben. Last two did not survived to our times. This complex was a place of the largest mass extermination of humanity during WWII. I am unable to review this trip as a self guided tour . As it was cancelled by the Auschwitz Birkenau themselves . So its based on a guided tour which i must say is a must as our guide was just brilliant in explaining everything regarding both camps . The tour was not rushed and can be very shocking throughout and very sad . It's hard to taken what actually took place in these camps Ensure you have good footwear as the ground can be hard going . I am unable to make any comment regarding the tour operator as i was disappointed in them . If you are going to Krakow you must visit Auschwitz Birkenau .

Can't speak highly enough re this tour. Pick up was on time, and Patrick our driver, and guide was brill. Sorted out the entrance passes, and the visit was a sobering experience. If you want to do a self guided tour I would look no further..

Good but not enough time to go around birkenau
Two separate trips would be better and worth paying for

Incredibly harrowing trip but one that everybody should experience to understand what humans are capable of. Our tour was self guided which was good for us as we were able to walk around at our own pace and not stuck in a group. Our driver was very prompt and professional, cannot fault this trip!

The communication from the company that provided the trip was very good, a lot of Kraków is undergoing extensive work to the roads and pavements limiting access to vehicles. We messaged the day before the trip as we had chosen a pick up point but this road was completely inaccessible. We were staying in an apartment nearby and were told we would be picked up outside there instead. We were sent the pick up times around 5pm the day before, there was a change in time and we were again informed of this via email. Our driver Patrick picked us up on time and after picking up other guests on the trip drove us to Auschwitz, this took around an hour, he took us to get our tickets and explained the best routes to take and how long we had in each area before we would be picked back up. The only reason I have scored the trip down is there are a lot of guided tours and student groups which hinders your progress on an unguided tour. There are some narrow corridors so it is difficult to squeeze past without interrupting these groups. I found the unguided tour suited us best as you were free to go at your own pace and see what you wanted, rather than traipsing in a line with a larger group.
