The first location visited is Reykjavik´s oldest shopping-street Laugavegurinn was for long time the cities trendiest street for shopping café culture and a place where artists resided and lived. The guide gives some historic overview of Laugavegurinn that now hosts a number of souvenir shops, bars and hotels are in the area. At Laugavegurinn we visit the Gilbert watch store that produces and sells the only designer watch sold in a single store in the whole world and worn by the likes of: Yoko Ono, Ben Stiller and the Dalai Lama. The second place visited is: Kringlan shopping-mall or Smárinn shopping-mall. In the shopping malls stores that can be visited sell Icelandic outdoor clothing such as: 66N, Cintamani, Icewear and Don Cano. In the supermarkets, the unique Icelandic food products which can be purchased are: dilled and smoked salmon and hard-fish (Icelandic fish jerky). Introduction on Icelandic milk products such as skyr.

The tour starts of at the statue of Skúli Magnússon. The focus is the city-center with clothing stores, knitwear and a comentary about trade and shopping in Reykjavik.

Iceland's Shopping street. In this street we see Heilsahusið, a local organic health shop; Christmas shop that is open all year, Icelandic wool sweater shops, Red Cross shop, and more souvenir and jewelry shops and the store Gilbert, that features Icelandic watches as worn by Dalai Lama, Tobey Mcguire and many more.

Biggest shopping mall of Iceland. Includes Icewear Magasin (Icelandic outerwear), Icelandic jewelry shops, Icelandic food shopping, and imported brands like Mac, H&M and Zara

Stop At: Kringlan Mall

There is another option to stop at Kringlan instead of Smaralind. Kringlan was built in 1987. Here we find outdoor clothing like Cintamani, Zo-on and 66 degrees North. There are also jewelry shops, Toys R Us, shoe shops, and foreign brands like H&M. Inside is also two supermarkets with unique Icelandic food such as bite sized hard fish.
