Upon your 8:00am pick-up from your hotel in Prague, go to lovely trip through the Czech countryside. First of all visit the Sedlec ossuary with the beautiful cathedral. The ossuary in Sedlec according to the tradition, the abbot of Sedlec monastery, Henry, brought a handful of soil from the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem in the 13th century. He dispersed it on the monastery cemetery and it became so called Holy Field. The soil became the part of the Holy Land so a lot of people were buried here, not only from Bohemia, but also from Poland, Bavaria and Belgium. The chapel interior is quite remarkable. The decoration is made almost entirely of human bones. This building has been constructed as a reminder of the fact that human life is transient and death permanent. After exploring a nice architecture of the ossuary and cathedral in Sedlec will move to lovely town Kutná Hora where you see the main historical town in Czech and visit St. Barbara’s Cathedral and the Church of St. Jacob. In this historical town will have a lunch when you can try a typical Czech cuisine.

After rest and good lunch will move to Zelená Hora. This place is famous for the extraordinary building of pilgrimage Church of St. Jan of Nepomuk. The pilgrimage Church of St. Jan of Nepomuk originated thanks to the cooperation of the two important men – the abbot of the Žďár monastery, Václav Vejmluva, and the genius architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel. The impulse behind the construction of the church was the reveal of preserved tissue in the grave of Jan of Nepomuk in St. Vitus Cathedral in 1719. A legend says that the priest gave his life for keeping a confession secret of queen Žofie.

Than we move to town Ždár nad Sázavou where you visit the most interesting places connected with an extraordinary architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel. You will get to know the life of the Cistercian monks, you will enter the personal house of an abbot a prelature, you will visit the Basilica of the Assumption of Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas, you will visit the dormitories of the monks – a convent, you will see the well chapel and former hatcheries from the 13th century. After all day exploring will go back to Prague where we can drop off you at your hotel or in other place in center of Prague.
