Our guide Victor said he has been guiding tours for over 30 years. He is very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture and language. He tried to teach up basic phrases, such as "hello" and "how are you?" He explained the numeric system. The weather was over 110 degrees with humidity almost that high! He kindly guided us from shade tree to shade tree as he showed us the ruins, and he supplemented his talk with photographs. He and his guide for the Spanish speakers, Miguel, made the long bus-ride home a party. It was a long day, 13 hours, but they made it educational and fun.
