The queues in Mykonos for the boat are mental! Despite buying the tickets online you still need to queue and exchange your ticket for the boat and island ticket which is not ideal in hot weather with no shade! The ferry ride over is beautiful as is the island itself and the tour guide was very knowledgeable.

A must see while visiting Mykonos, educational, enjoyable and well organized. The evening was a great time for this tour as it was cooler and the sunset coming back was stunning.

Enjoyed our trip to Delos but it was not as good as the other tours we took in Greece, primarily due to large group format and our initial inability to find our guide. We were told to look for a guide holding a #2 sign, but she was holding up a blue flag instead. Another lady at the gate was handing out tickets, so we were able to get in, but then we had to race from group to group looking for the other #2s. We missed the first part of the tour.
For future travellers, suggest the following:
1. Book a small group tour (if they exist). What we could hear from our guide was very interesting, but she often started her talk before the entire group arrived.
2. Arrive in Mykonos town in time to walk from bus or taxi to the ferry office which is on a point around the bay in Mykonos town. You'll probably need at least 15 minutes. Turn in your receipt for tickets at the ferry office.
4. Be prepared for choppy seas if it is windy.

The ruins are about 4500 years old and one of the most important mythological, historical and archeological sites in Greece. If you're even remotely interested in history this place is phenomenal. It’s a very tranquil place and the quiet is somewhat eerie but it has a long and interesting history as the centre of the Cyclades and as the birthplace of Apollo and his twin Artemis. The site is quite extensive and can be very hot so bring water, food, sunscreen, a hat and good walking shoes. I would recommend choosing a knowledgeable guide who can help explain the significance of the ruins you are seeing and explain the fascinating history of the people of the island this will enhance your experience and add to the appreciation of the site.
The Ferry ride, from Mykonos is a little over half an hour each way. I would suggest arriving early as the site is not as busy and it’s a lot cooler than the afternoon. I was on a guided tour and on arrival at the island we were segregated into groups depending on the language of the group. There is currently an art installation throughout the site by Antony Gormley, so you will see lots of metallic figures dotted around the place. I can’t remember our guides name but she was very engaging and knowledgeable(30th July 2019(English group)). There were lots to see and a lot of information to digest and I found a bit of research beforehand a great help. The Tour ends at the “Terrace of the Lions” and is what normally draws people to the island but there is so much more here. You then get an hour to yourself to explore on your own before the boat leaves. There is a small Archeological Museum located on the island which is interesting and contains the original lions and various artifacts of the History of the island. The signage was in French and Greek as it is excavated by the French Archaeological School but it gives you as idea of how amazing the island must have been. Also, they were giving out free bottles of water which was a bonus. If you still have the time and inclination, you could climb to the top of Mt. Kynthos (Greek mythology has it that Zeus sat here and watched Leto giving birth of his twin children, Apollo and Artemetis). You get a fabulous view along with 2 more temples along the way.
Delos is a wonder to see and so rich in History. I thoroughly recommended a visit.
