Stop At: Aegina Town, Aegina Town, Aegina, Saronic Gulf Islands, Attica

The city tour starts from the modern port entrance. After visiting St Nicholas, the whitewashed chapel of the port, we head inland. Our tour takes us to some of the most important buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries and to the churches scattered all over the town. We visit the significant administration buildings from the time Aegina became the first capital of Modern Greece (1828) and home to the Governor, Ioannis Kapodistrias. Along the way we will taste the world-famous Aegina pistachio and will pass by the old town hall, the Folklore museum and the traditional fish market, where we make a stop for a glass of traditional ouzo and “meze”. The tour concludes at the ruins of the Ancient port and city, for an optional visit at the Temple of Apollo and the Archaeological Museum.
