Our companion will present you the history and architecture of the windmills of the square in Chora. You will also be able to go inside a Mill and view its inside and its operating mechanism.

Stop At: Astypalaia Castle, Chora Greece

Before we get to the Castle, we will make various stops at points of interest such as church complexes, Town Hall and Astypalitik House. Then, walking through alleys and neighborhoods, you will reach the top of the hill and the Venetian Castle of Astypalaia. There, after learning about its history, architecture and the life of the locals inside the Castle, we will visit the two churches inside the Castle (Evangelistria Church and Saint George). The view of magic, a vast window in the deep blue of the Aegean is waiting for you to capture it.

Stop At: Ekklisia tis Panagias tis Poraitissas, Greece

Unique sample of a church with a very interesting architecture and decoration. We will tour in and out of the temple learning its history. We will eventually find ourselves in the old monastic community of the church with the outspoken visiting cell of St. Anthimos. Going down the square we will make a stop at the world-wide 8th century BC Astypalaia cemetery.
