Day 1: Day 1 - Sunday: The capital of Wales

Day 1: Day 1 - Sunday: The capital of Wales

Pass By: Cardiff, Cardiff, South Wales, Wales
Croeso I Gymru! (Welcome to Wales!). Make your way to Cardiff and enjoy our capital city at your leisure. There is plenty to see in the vibrant city centre. There are a whopping 15 castles within an hours’ drive of Cardiff – Wales is the country of castles after all – you’ll find 3 within the city itself – Cardiff Castle in the centre, the fairy-tale Castell Coch and Elizabethan St Fagans! Take a stroll along Cardiff Bay; the largest waterfront development in Europe, and a very popular spot to visit with great sea views from its numerous restaurants and cafes.

Day 2: Day 2 - Monday: Welsh way of life

Stop At: St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff CF5 6XB Wales
Today you will be picked up by your driver-guide to begin your journey through Wales. Spend the morning exploring St Fagans, one of Europe’s leading open-air museums. Over forty original buildings from different historical periods and all over Wales have been re-erected here and lovingly restored to their former glory.
This National History Museum explores all aspects of how people in Wales have lived, worked and spent their leisure time.

Duration: 1 hour 55 minutes

Stop At: Brecon Beacons National Park, Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales
Next, our tour takes us deep into Brecon Beacons National Park, to discover the industrial history of Wales. Visit the National Museum of Mining - Blaenavon Big Pit and embark on a 300 ft descent into the former colliery to experience the life of a working miner.

After a day full of exploring, it's time to relax in the grounds of Jabajak Vineyard, where you will be staying tonight.

Day 3: Day 3 - Tuesday: Gems on the coast

Pass By: Pembrokeshire, Pembrokeshire, Wales
The third day begins with a journey through the stunning Pembrokeshire countryside and a visit to the Cathedral City of St Davids.

Stop At: St. Davids, St. Davids, St Davids Peninsula, Pembrokeshire, Wales
In the 12th-century the Pope decreed that two trips to St Davids were equal to one to Rome, and the cathedral became a centre of pilgrimage for the entire Western world. Our guide will share fascinating stories about the cathedral and its namesake. There will also be an opportunity to look around the ruins of the Bishops Palace - a medieval castle which once rivalled the cathedral in all its glory.

Pass By: Aberystwyth, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales
An epic journey along the sweeping west coast follows, with a stop at the colourful harbour town of Aberaeron before a visit Wales’ National Library in Aberystwyth; a vast Edwardian building with panoramic views of the town and Cardigan Bay.

Stroll along the Victorian promenade and don’t forget to ‘kick the bar’ at the end!

Day 4: Day 4 - Wednesday: Enchanted places

Stop At: Devil's Bridge (Pontarfynach), Devil's Bridge (Pontarfynach), Ceredigion, Wales
Devil’s Bridge is the destination this morning, but the twist? The journey will be by steam train. The Vale of Rheidol is a narrow-gauge Edwardian railway which chugs its way through the heart of the Cambrian Mountains.

Guests will have time to enjoy the leafy village or take a walk around the mythical waterfalls. Legend says that they are the last place the Devil visited in Wales.

Pass By: Snowdonia National Park, Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, Wales
Later, the tour traces its way along the outskirts of Snowdonia National Park and into North Wales.

Stop At: Portmeirion Village, Minffordd, Portmeirion LL48 6ER Wales
This afternoon sees a visit to the Italianate village of Portmeirion. Enjoy the fantastic gardens, learn about its history and while away the afternoon in the quaint cafés and shops. The quirky avant-garde series ‘The Prisoner’ was filmed in the 1960s!

Pass By: Caernarfon, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, North Wales, Wales
This evening the first of two nights in a luxurious Welsh Hotel with a history dating all the way back to 1794. Expect true Welsh hospitality and a wonderful ambience.

Day 5: Day 5 - Thursday: Essence of the North

Stop At: Caernarfon Castle Castle Ditch Pendeitsh, Caernarfon LL55 2AY Wales
Spend the morning in the busy market town of Caernarfon. Take in the imposing medieval fortress, Caernarfon Castle, recognised by UNESCO and classed as one of the architectural feats of the middle ages.

Next, a scenic journey over the suspension bridge to the mystical island of Anglesey for a photo stop at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch the longest place name in Europe (if you hadn’t already guessed!)

Stop At: National Slate Museum, Gilfach Ddu Country Park Padarn Country Park, Llanberis, Snowdonia National Park LL55 4TY Wales
This afternoon step back in time with a visit to the National Slate Museum – an old 19th century quarry in the heart of Snowdonia.
Duration: 1 hour

Meals included:
• Dinner: A farewell group dinner in the evening at the WAL restaurant will showcase Wales’ delicious cuisine at its finest.

Day 6: Day 6 – Onward Journey

Pass By: Bangor, Bangor, Gwynedd, North Wales, Wales
This morning you will be transferred to the Bangor train station or transported to a drop off point of your choosing.
Depending on requirements, train tickets can be booked for onward travel to Cardiff, London or any other departure point.
