Third Reich Walking Tour: Historic Facts and Sites in Munich
2 hr, 30 min
Follow the growth of the movement from its first mass meeting at the Hofbräuhaus to its failed attempt to seize power at the Feldherrnhalle. You will be brought to the site of mass party rallies at Königsplatz and stop in the Hofgarten to talk about The White Rose resistance movement. The tour covers all of the important sites that played a role in the origin of the darkest chapter of German history — one that ended with the beautiful city of Munich in ruins.
The tour concludes at the music school on the Königsplatz.

Super informative. We went in January, so it was a little bit cold to be walking around outside for a few hours. But it was definitely something that we enjoyed. It was interesting to see where things began, and understanding the facts and history behind Germany before and during the Third Reich. Our guide did a good job including some humor in what can be a dark topic.
This tour puts the history you learned about in school or read about, into tangible real terms and experiences. The tour is alot of walking and he moves a bit quickly so not sure it is good for families with young kids. Another important note is that you do NOT end where you start, so it is a good extra walk, or a taxi ride to get back to the start.

The tour lead by Eric was good. We learned much from the tour.
1. We were new to Munich and the tour did not end in Marienplatz, where it started. We have a hard time finding our way back even though Eric did tell us how to navigate.
2. Unfortunately, there was a computer glitch at the time we were booking the tour, we end up with 3 bookings. Viator was fast and efficient to process the refund after I made an international call to their US office. However, due to the exchange rate, we were made to pay a small sum for the computer mistake.
Ralph was a fantastic tour guide. I highly recommend this tour.
